Import & Shipping

Do I Need an Import Permit to Buy Plants from Thailand?

Importing live plants from Thailand is easier than many buyers think. Whether you need an import permit depends on your country’s regulations — but in most cases, our customers do not need to apply for one themselves.

At BKinterplants, we prepare all required export documentation in compliance with international plant health regulations to help ensure a smooth import process.

🌍 Import Permit Requirements by Country

Import regulations vary by country. For most destinations we ship to, customers do not need to apply for an import permit themselves, as we handle the required export documentation and compliance procedures.

Here is a general overview:

🇺🇸 United States – No import permit required for our shipments. We use an authorized courier service that manages the necessary documentation and compliance procedures.

🇨🇦 Canada – No import permit required for our shipments. Our courier service assists with the required import process.

🇪🇺 European Union – We prepare and provide the required phytosanitary documentation in accordance with EU plant health regulations. Customers typically do not need to apply for an additional import permit for standard retail orders.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom – We provide all necessary export documentation in compliance with UK plant health regulations. An additional import permit is generally not required for standard orders.

⚠️ Regulations may change. We recommend confirming with your local plant health authority if you are placing large, bulk, or commercial orders.
